Board Election Services

The preparation and processing of the elections for Boards of Trustees is a task which can be easily handed over by boards to their Returning Officer – with little thought as to the magnitude of the task.

The most difficult tasks are getting the roll and mailing list right, and packing the letters for despatch – twice, one for the notice and nomination form and one for the voting papers. This latter is an enormous manual task, for a school of only 500 students, requiring up to 2000 letters to be prepared and posted.

GMS offers a ‘returning officer’ service for Boards of Trustees elections. This is a totally independent service which is offered at two levels:

  • A full service where GMS provides the returning officer who carries out all the tasks of preparing for the election, counting of votes and declaration of results
  • A postal dispatch service only where the school chooses its own returning officer but GMS takes away the drudgery of printing, packing and posting the nomination forms and the voting papers.
